The
water plays an important role on tea preparation.

* Some steamed green teas from Japan should not
steep for more then 2 minutes, in some cases,
such as Gyokuro, for only 1 minute.

or a sharing pitcher. Over steeping the tea leaves
can result in a bitter taste.

Black Tea:
The

Add the leaves to a teapot, filter or brew basket,
and poor 200 F water over the leaves, steeping
for 3-4 minutes. * Make sure you empty
the entire teapot into cups or a sharing pitcher.
Over steeping the tealeaves can result in a bitter
taste.
Plain T Oolong teas can be steeped at least 3
consecutive times. You may increase the brewing
time after the
third steeping.
Preparing
Pu-Erh Tea:
The
water plays an important role on tea preparation.
Use filtered or bottled spring water.
Use 1 tuo cha per 12 oz. cup.
Add the nugget of tea to a teapot, filter or brew
basket, rapidly pouring boiling water over the
tea and steep for 20 seconds. Rinse out this first
steeping, as is it not good for drinking.
Pour rapidly boiling water over the tea and steep
for 30 seconds.
* Make sure you empty the entire teapot into cups
or a sharing pitcher. Over steeping the tealeaves
can result in a bitter taste.

Flavored Tea:
The

Use 1 teaspoon of Flavored tea per 6 oz. cup.
Add the leaves to a teapot, filter or brew basket,
and poor 200 F water over the black tea leaves,
steeping for 2-3 minutes, and 180 F water over
the green tea leaves, steeping for 1-3 minutes. * Make sure you empty
the entire teapot into cups or a sharing pitcher.
Over steeping the tealeaves can result in a bitter
taste.
Plain T Flavored green teas can be steeped at
least 3 consecutive times. You may increase the
brewing time after the third steeping.

Rooibos Tea:
The

Use filtered or bottled spring water.
Use 1 teaspoon of Rooibos tea per 6 oz. cup.
Add the leaves to a teapot, filter or brew basket,
and poor 200 F water over the leaves, steeping
for 3-4 minutes. * Make sure you empty
the entire teapot into cups or a sharing pitcher.
Over steeping the tea leaves can result in a bitter
taste.
Preparing
White Tea:
The
water plays an important role on tea preparation.
Use filtered or bottled spring water.
Use 1 teaspoon of white tea per 6 oz. cup.
Add the leaves to a teapot, filter or brew basket
and poor 180 F water over the leaves, steeping
for 5-7 minutes. * PlainT white teas
are good for at least 3 consecutive steeping per
serving.
Some steamed white teas should not steep for more
then 2 minutes.
